Shimla, Nov. 15 -- Former Union minister and member of Parliament from Hamirpur Lok Sabha constituency Anurag Thakur on Monday said that Himachal should also host state games like the national games held at national level. He was speaking at the inauguration of the 63rd Himachal Pradesh state-level volleyball championship in Kudawala village in the Barotiwala area of Baddi. Himachal Pradesh Olympic Association should start Himachal State Games, he said , adding that this would create a sports environment throughout the state and ensure employment and other benefits to the athletes as per the rules. He stated that if the state government is unable to appoint coaches, the Himachal Olympic Association will take the lead. "The association has decided to appoint coaches for eight major sports on its own. In the first phase of the plan, 20 coaches will be appointed, followed by 100 more in the second phase, so that Himachal's talented athletes can receive proper guidance," he added...
