Police freeze assets under NDPS Act in Kupwara
Srinagar, Feb. 7 -- Police has stepped up its drive against drug trafficking by freezing illegally acquired assets in an NDPS case registered at Police Station, Kupwara.
Police said in an action relates to case FIR No. 186/2025 registered under Sections 8/20 and 29 of the NDPS Act during the investigation, police recovered a heroin-like substance along with cash amounting to Rs.4,93,100, suspected to be proceeds of narcotics trafficking.
"Further investigation revealed the accused's involvement in the sale and distribution of narcotic substances. Accordingly, a Freezing Order under Section 68-F of the NDPS Act was issued to prevent transfer or disposal of illegally acquired property," the spokesman said, adding that all seizure and freezing proceedings were conducted strictly as per law.
