Shimla, April 2 -- Responding to accusations from the BJP regarding the shielding of "tainted" officials, CM Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu stated that senior bureaucrats will face immediate and appropriate action if any wrongdoing is established. Responding to media queries in Shimla, Sukhu said, "We will first gather complete information in the matter. If anyone is found involved in corruption, strict action will be taken after due inquiry." The remarks came amid a controversy triggered by allegations made by chief secretary Sanjay Gupta against two former chief secretaries, RD Dhiman and Prabodh Saxena, both of whom currently hold positions as chairpersons in government bodies.
