Drug peddler's illegal property razed
Srinagar, May 3 -- Anantnag police on Saturday demolished a commercial complex that was illegally constructed by a drug peddler at Waghama, Bijbehara.
According to a police spokesman, the demolished property, valued at Rs.1 crore and comprising 15 shops, belonged to notorious drug peddler Sajad Ahmad Rather, who was booked under Section 8/15 of the NDPS Act of the Yaripora police station in 2017.
Police spokesman said during verification, it surfaced that the shopping complex had been illegally constructed on state land. "Acting upon due legal process and in coordination with the civil authorities concerned, the illegal structure was demolished as part of ongoing efforts to dismantle the financial infrastructure of drug syndicates operating in the district," the spokesman said.htc...
