Shimla, April 23 -- Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) Himachal wing on Wednesday announced to hold "Jan Aakrosh Mahila Padyatra", said BJP state president Rajeev Bindal during a press conference, adding that this is not merely a protest but a decisive movement for women's dignity, rights and rightful representation. Stepping up the criticism on Congress party and the state government, Bindal said the developments in Parliament over the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam have completely exposed Congress's anti-women mindset. Bindal said that over the past decade, the Modi government has taken several concrete steps towards women's empowerment-economically, socially and educationally. "This was the moment to hand over the key of governance to 50% of the population, but instead Congress 'stabbed' 70 crore women in the back." Welcoming the announcement of urban local body elections, Bindal termed it a victory of democracy and judicial accountability.
