Accusing govt of bias, Jai Ram threatens to boycott budget priority meet
Shimla, Jan. 29 -- Accusing government of not prioritising the priorities of opposition MLAs, leader of Opposition (LoP) Jai Ram Thakur has threatened to boycott the upcoming budget priority meeting.
The Budget Priority meeting is scheduled to be held for two days in the first week of February ahead of the budget session. BJP in 2025 had also boycotted the budget priority meeting.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, former Chief Minister and Leader of the Opposition Jai Ram Thakur alleged that the government has completed three years in office, but it is not giving any priority to the MLA priorities submitted annually by the BJP MLAs for their respective constituencies.
"The government is not taking any effective action on the priorities submitted by the BJP MLAs for the past three years. The government is neither preparing their detailed project reports nor forwarding them to other relevant departments for financial approvals. In this government, the MLA priority projects are still stuck in files. The government is openly showing bias in MLA priorities, deliberately ignoring the work of opposition MLAs and denying them financial approval", said Thakur. htc...
