22-year-old from Kupvi clears UPSC
Shimla, March 7 -- Vikas Panwar, a 22-year-old resident of Kupvi in Himachal Pradesh's Shimla district, cleared the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) examination on his very first attempt. Vikas secured the 159th rank. Vikas Panwar belongs to Jubli village in Kupvi. He completed his education up to Class 12 from DAV New Shimla School in Shimla. After that, he pursued a Bachelor's degree (Honours) in Political Science from Hindu College, University of Delhi.
Currently, he is pursuing an MA in Political Science. During his studies, he also qualified the UGC-NET examination, which reflects his academic excellence.
His father, Chatar Singh, is a principal in a government school in Delhi. Earlier, he had served in Himachal Pradesh in positions such as TGT (trained graduate teacher), panchayat secretary, and income tax inspector. At present, he is working as a principal in a government school in Delhi. Meanwhile, Vikas's mother Vinita Panwar is a homemaker.
Vikas Panwar had participated in the popular TV quiz show "Kaun Banega Crorepati" in November 2025 and won a prize of Rs.50 lakh....
