Jaipur, Feb. 6 -- At least four people including a 23-year-old woman were arrested on Wednesday after she along with her boyfriend allegedly killed her husband and framed it as a hit-and-run case, police said. Sriganganagar SP, Amrita Douhan, said, "Prima facie, the two got married in October last year but the accused woman, Anjali Kumar, had a relationship with her boyfriend Sanjay (25) for the last seven years. Anjali's family was aware of their relationship but still got her married to the victim Ashish Kumar (27). Anjali was not happy with the marriage and she plotted the entire murder." According to police, Ashish was killed on Friday evening at a road in 01KLM village in Sriganganagar. "That time, Anjali told the police that she and Ashish went for an evening walk when an overspeeding bike arrived from behind and ran him over. She also said the assailant later robbed her gold earring and fled the spot leaving her unconscious," said the SP. Following the development, police had sent the body for an autopsy and lodged a case of negligent driving against the bike driver and started searching for him. "However, some suspicion arose once the autopsy report came. There was no sign of a hit-and-run-like accident. Rather, there were multiple injury marks caused by brutal assault. We also did not find any other clue regarding the assailant," said SP Douhan. Police then summoned Anjali on Wednesday for interrogation, during which she confessed that she and her boyfriend murdered Ashish, she said. Police said that both Anjali and Sanjay are residents of Churu's Sadushahar. They met during their graduation at a college in Sriganganagar's Ravla a few years ago and soon came into a relationship, police said. "However, Anjali's family did not approve of their relationship and got her married to Ashish in Sriganganagar city. After their marriage, Anjali also approached Ashish to send her to their previous college in Ravla for higher studies. But Ashish did not agree, following which Anjali and Sanjay planned his murder only 16 days before the incident," said the superintendent. The two also hired, Rohit (20) and Siddharth (20), to assist them who also checked the murder spot few days ago. On Friday, Anjali took Ashish out for a walk in the evening and reached at their scheduled spot in 01KLM village which was very deserted at the time of murder. "Sanjay was already informed by Anjali before they left the house. Soon they reached the spot, Sanjay and his men attacked Ashish with rods and sticks. They continued beating him until he was dead. When he fell unconscious, Sanjay also smothered him to death. In autopsy, we have found a deep injury at his head and also the sign of smothering," said SP Douhan. After the incident, Anjali gave Sanjay her earring and mobile phone to make it look like a robbery. "Sanjay and his men fled the spot immediately while Anjali called Ashish's family members and also some local people and told them their pre-planned hit-and-run accident story," Douhan said. Police said they have arrested all the four accused Anjali, Sanjay, Rohit, and Siddharth and a murder case was also lodged against them under necessary sections of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita....
