India, Jan. 29 -- Actor-filmmaker Farhan Akhtar's Manipuri production Boong has secured a 2026 BAFTA Film Awards nomination. The only Indian entry on this year's BAFTA list, it has been nominated for Best Children's and Family Film. Alongside Farhan, the film is backed by Vikesh Bhutani, Alan McAlex, Ritesh Sidhwani, and Shujaat Saudagar. Speaking about the honour, Farhan shares, "The entire team is very thrilled by the nomination for Boong. We are honoured that BAFTA has recognised the film's message and what value it holds for a family audience." The Lakshmipriya Devi directorial features Gugun Kipgen and Bala Hijam, and premiered at the 2024 Toronto International Film Festival, where it was highly acclaimed for its unadorned portrayal of childhood. Since then, Boong travelled across the festival circuit, including Warsaw IFF 2024, MAMI Mumbai Film Festival 2024, IFFI Goa, and the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne 2025. The BAFTA Film Awards will be held on February 22 in London....
