Villages central to govt's development agenda: CM
Jaipur, Feb. 7 -- Chief minister Bhajan Lal Sharma on Friday said Rajasthan's development agenda is centred on villages, asserting that the government is working continuously for rural upliftment through grassroots outreach and welfare delivery.
Addressing a Gram Utthan Camp and public gathering in Ladnun, Sharma said the ongoing rural camps reflect the government's accountability and urged people to participate to access information and benefits of welfare schemes.
"Gram Utthan camps have been launched at every girdawar circle to ensure farmers, poor families and livestock rearers receive government services close to home," he said.
Highlighting central initiatives aimed at strengthening rural India, he referred to measures focused on providing assured employment with digital monitoring, transparency in payments and creation of durable rural assets.
The chief minister said more than 1,500 camps have been organised across the state so far, facilitating over 7.7 million services. These include distribution of more than 98,000 soil health cards and over 55,000 property ownership cards, treatment of more than 510,000 lakh livestock and vaccination of over 77,000 animals. Nearly 29,000 registrations have also been recorded under the PM Surya Ghar scheme. Farmers have received approvals for fencing, irrigation pipelines, solar pumps and sprinkler systems, along with housing allotments under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and registration of dairy cooperative societies, he said.
Sharma claimed that more work has been done in two years than in the earlier government's full tenure. He cited expansion of irrigation facilities to nearly 99,562 hectares through canal systems and increased financial assistance to gaushalas. He also highlighted initiatives aimed at increasing farm income, including daytime electricity supply in 22 districts, enhanced PM-Kisan benefits, a wheat bonus and interest-free crop loans worth Rs.50,000 crore.
Sharma assured of a transparent recruitment processes to prevent paper leaks and claimed the government has already provided over 100,000 government jobs. Recruitment for more than 150,000 posts is underway, while a calendar for 100,000 additional vacancies has been released this year. He urged youth to focus on their studies and assured them of fair examinations and expanded job opportunities....
