Barmer/Pali, Feb. 14 -- A nursing officer in Pali and an agriculture supervisor in Barmer died by suicide in separate incidents, police said on Friday. The 36-year-old nursing officer allegedly died by suicide after consuming poison at his residence in Pali on Thursday night. Before ingesting the toxin, he shared two videos on social media in which he held a woman responsible for his death and alleged harassment and blackmail. The incident took place around 8pm in the Kotwali police station area. The deceased was posted as a nursing officer at MDM Hospital. According to police, after consuming poison at his home, victim made a video call to a woman, who later took him to the trauma ward of Bangad Hospital, from where he was referred to Jodhpur for further treatment. However, he died on the way. The victim alleged that his wife and children were staying at their maternal home and that he was being prevented from meeting them. He further claimed that he had paid large sums of money over time and demanded a thorough investigation into the matter. Police said that the videos are being examined and statements of concerned individuals will be recorded. Further investigation is underway. In Barmer, an agricultural supervisor died by suicide at his home under RIICO police station area. According to police, the incident took place on Thursday evening but it was noticed later when one of his neighbours found him hanging after which police was informed.
