Udaipur, Feb. 15 -- Serious allegations have surfaced against police personnel and forest officials in the Panarwa area of Udaipur district, with tribal women accusing them of assault and demolition of huts during an alleged eviction drive. According to the complainants, the incident occurred on February 12 around 3 pm, when they were sitting outside their homes in Kodarnal Fala of Ambasa village. They alleged that two police personnel and several forest officials arrived in a jeep and began abusing and assaulting them. One woman was allegedly beaten with sticks, while another was kicked during the incident. On Friday, a group of affected tribal women submitted a memorandum to the Divisional Commissioner and the District Collector at the Collectorate, seeking strict action against those responsible. In the memorandum, residents including Mori Bubdiya alleged that officials entered their homes and threw utensils, flour, bedding and clothes outside, causing damage to their huts. They further claimed that amid the chaos, a forest staff member dropped a two-month-old infant to the ground....
