Tractor carrying river sand runs over forest guard
Bharatpur, Jan. 9 -- Sarmathura police have launched a search for a vehicle carrying river sand and its driver after it allegedly ran over a forest employee in Dholpur, officers said on Thursday.
According to forester Devendra Chauhan, the victim, Jitendra Singh, a Jaipur native posted at the National Chambal Gharial Wildlife Sanctuary in Jhiri, Dholpur, was on duty at the Jhiri check post on Wednesday night. "He had stepped out to get medicines when a tractor trolley transporting river sand crushed his leg and sped away," Chauhan said.
Singh was taken to the Sar Mathura Community Health Centre, where doctors referred him to Jaipur for further treatment. Harendra Singh, station house officer of Sar Mathura police station, said the tractor trolley carrying river sand ran over the forest employee's leg. "Police have launched a search to identify the vehicle and its driver," he said....
