Alwar, Feb. 23 -- The death toll in last week's firecracker factory blast in Bhiwadi of Alwar district has risen to eight after another critically injured worker succumbed during treatment on Sunday, police said. The deceased has been identified as Anoop, who had been battling for his life since the explosion. Due to his critical condition, he was referred to All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, where he died during treatment, police said. The incident occurred on February 16 when an explosion ripped through a firecracker factory in Bhiwadi, triggering a massive fire. Several workers were present inside the unit at the time. The intensity of the blast caused panic in the surrounding area, with residents rushing out of their homes. Multiple fire tenders were pressed into service, and it took hours to bring the blaze under control. Seven workers were burnt alive on the day of the incident, while several others sustained serious injuries. The injured were initially admitted to hospitals in Bhiwadi and nearby areas. Two critically injured workers were later referred to AIIMS Delhi. With Anoop's death, the toll has climbed to eight, while another worker remains in critical condition. Police have arrested three people, including the factory operator, and further questioning is underway to ascertain violations in the unit's functioning....
