Jaipur, March 16 -- Chief minister Bhajan Lal Sharma on Sunday said that regular running is the key to a healthy life, emphasising that starting the day with a run keeps people energetic, maintains good health and promotes positive thinking throughout the day. He said the Fit India campaign launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has inspired citizens across the country to adopt a healthier lifestyle.
Addressing participants at the 'Viksit Rajasthan Run-2026' organised at the Amar Jawan Jyoti in Jaipur as part of the Rajasthan Day celebrations, the chief minister encouraged the youth to follow a disciplined and healthy routine.
He appealed to them to stay fit and actively contribute to the development of the state so that Rajasthan can achieve new milestones. "If the people of the state take one step forward, Rajasthan will move several steps ahead," he said.
On the occasion, Sharma also flagged off the 'Viksit Rajasthan Run' being held simultaneously across the state, marking a series of programmes leading up to Rajasthan Day.
The chief minister said the state government has introduced a new tradition from last year to celebrate Rajasthan Day according to the historical date of the state's formation. Keeping the cultural tradition of starting new work at an auspicious time in mind, he said Rajasthan Day this year will be celebrated across the state with enthusiasm on March 19 (Chaitra Shukla Pratipada).
Sharma said the state government is working in line with the vision of 'Viksit Bharat-2047' envisioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and aims to achieve the goal of 'Viksit Rajasthan-2047'.
The government's priority, he said, is to ensure that the benefits of welfare schemes reach the last person in society. He urged all eligible beneficiaries to take advantage of government schemes and encourage others to do the same.
Highlighting the government's achievements, Sharma said the state has taken several landmark decisions in the past two years in sectors such as electricity, water supply and industrial development.
