Jodhpur, Feb. 1 -- Jodhpur police on Saturday announced that they have formed a special investigation team (SIT) to probe the death of 23-year-old religious preacher Sadhvi Prem Baisa, who died during treatment at a city hospital on Wednesday. According to ACP Chhavi Sharma, who is heading the SIT, the investigation was being conducted based on a complaint by the woman's father, who has alleged that his daughter's death was caused by a spurious injection administered at an ashram in Jodhpur. According to the complainant, the injection severely worsened what was only a mild cold initially. Sharma said that all aspects of the case were being examined, and fresh leads are also being verified. An officer said they were also probing the reasons behind a post on the Sadhvi's Instagram account, which called for "justice" to be served, and was posted three hours after her death, allegedly by her father. The sadhvi was in the news a year ago over a widely shared video of disputed authenticity that was allegedly used to cast aspersions on her family life. The sadhvi had lodged an FIR over the video, and one person was subsequently arrested. Prem Baisa was born in Pareu village in Balotra district. Her mother died when she was just two years old, after which she was brought to Jodhpur. Under the guidance of Sant Rajaram and Sant Kriparam Maharaj, she learned Bhagwat katha and bhajans, and established Sadhna Kutir on Pal Road....
