Jaipur, April 10 -- Former chief ministers Vasundhara Raje and Ashok Gehlot, along with former deputy chief minister Sachin Pilot, have been inducted as members of the Rajasthan assembly's Rules Committee. Speaker Vasudev Devnani has constituted a total of 16 House committees for 2026-27, including 12 departmental and four financial committees, appointing their chairpersons and members. Of these, 11 committees will be chaired by BJP legislators, while three key panels have been headed by Congress MLAs. The Speaker himself will serve as ex-officio chairman of two committees. LoP Tikaram Jully has been appointed chairman of the Public Accounts Committee. Congress MLA Rajendra Pareek will head the Questions and References Committee, while Narendra Budania has been given charge of the Backward Classes Welfare Committee. The Rules Committee, chaired by the Speaker, includes a mix of senior leaders from across party lines, notably Raje, Gehlot and Pilot, along with Harish Chaudhary, Shrichand Kripalani, Chandrabhan Singh Chauhan and Deepti Kiran Maheshwari. Other key panels announced include the Questions and References Committee headed by Rajendra Pareek, the Women and Child Welfare Committee chaired by Kalpana Devi, the Backward Classes Welfare Committee led by Narendra Budania, the Scheduled Castes Welfare Committee under Ramesh Khinchi, and the Scheduled Tribes Welfare Committee chaired by Phool Singh Meena. Dr Jaswant Singh Yadav will head the Committee on Home, Local Bodies and Panchayati Raj Institutions, while Kailash Chand Verma will lead the Petitions and Ethics Committee, and Jitendra Kumar Gothwal will chair the Privileges and Subordinate Legislation Committee.
