Jaipur, Feb. 2 -- Rajasthan has witnessed a marginal reduction in its share of central taxes in the Union Budget presented by Union finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman. According to the state-wise distribution details of the budget, Rajasthan's share in central taxes has been reduced from 6.026% in the previous budget to 5.926% this year. Under this revised share, the state will receive Rs.90,445 crore as devolution from central taxes. Despite the cut in percentage share, Rajasthan will get around Rs.7,000 crore more in absolute terms compared to the previous financial year, when it was allocated Rs.83,940 crore from central tax proceeds. The increase is attributed to the overall rise in the divisible pool of central taxes. As per the breakup, Rajasthan will receive Rs.26,550 crore from corporation tax, Rs.32,187 crore from income tax, Rs.24,736 crore from central GST, Rs.4,825 crore from customs duty, Rs.2,055 crore from excise duty, and Rs.89 crore from other central taxes. The Budget has announced the opening of girls' hostels in every district across the country. Rajasthan will receive 41 hostels under this scheme. As per the central government's plan, a total of 41 girls' hostels will be set up across the state, one in each district.
