Raj govt started 71 new colleges in 2 years: CM
Jaipur, May 1 -- Chief minister Bhajan Lal Sharma on Thursday said that the state government has started 71 new government colleges and also built new buildings for 185 colleges in the last two years.
"Congress took five years to set up only 57 colleges while we have started 71 colleges in just two years. The government has also sanctioned Rs.185 crores for this colleges. The central government also allocated Rs.330 crores from the higher education funds. We have also distributed 43,000 scooters to the college-going girls while Congress distributed only 21,000," said the CM during an event in Pali.
He added: "For our PM, there are only four communities in India. Women are always the first community followed by youth, farmers, and labourers. Their development means the growth of the entire nation. Our government is therefore fully dedicated to the development of women."
Giving details of various schemes, he said, "While the Beti Bachao Beti Padao scheme made women flourish in all the sectors, Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan ensured hygienic environment and proper toilets for them, Jal Jeevan Mission prevented many women from states like Rajasthan from walking miles under scorching heat to get drinking water. We have provided all the facilities to girls for their education and all the support they needed to pursue higher education."
Meanwhile, taking a dig at the Congress, he said, "Our government never spared any corruption. While we are taking constant action against the culprits who had been running a paper leak business during the previous government, we have also conducted 350 exams in last two years fairly. The future of our youth is the priority for us."
He also said that the government has disbursed 125,000 appointment letters in the last two years while another 135,000 are in pipeline. "We have also issued a job calender with another 1.25 lakh job notifications. We have already given additional 3 lakh jobs in the private sectors. Our target is to give a total 6 lakh to 7 lakh jobs to our youth in the private sector in our five years. The Rising Rajasthan summit has boosted the number of investments in our state. These are not only helping the development of our state but are also generating job scopes for the youth.
"This is Rajasthan's identity that the people who have migrated to different states are also attached to the root of Rajasthan. They are constantly contributing for our growth."
Asserting a bright future for Rajasthan and its people, he said, "When we formed our government in 2023, we have mapped a proper plan and set priorities. We are working in the same line today. Our priorities have always been water, power, and roads. Basic infrastructure development can ensure the growth of a state in every sector. While we have inaugurated the long stalled ERCP project, we have also started the work of Yamuna water project in northern Rajasthan, Dewasi project in southern Rajasthan and also developed the Indira Gandhi Nahar. We are also working hard to ensure that all the farmers get electricity in the day by next two years."
Commenting on the matter, the Congress spokesperson, Swarnim Chaturvedi, said, "The government said that they would disburse 4 lakh jobs in five years. Now they have said that they disbursed only 1.25 lakh two and half years. Our government had set up many colleges and universities that this government has shut just like they merged many schools."...
