Only loyal party workers must be prioritised within BJP: Raje
Jaipur, April 7 -- Senior state Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and former chief minister Vasundhara Raje on Monday said that the party must ensure that only loyal workers were appointed in significant positions.
Addressing an event in Jaipur's Sardar Ballavbhai Patel road, held to celebrate the party's foundation day, Raje said: "The most crucial feature of our party is that we have never compromised with our ideology. There are many people who joined the party and then left and there are also people who switched to our party from a different outfit.
"Therefore, we must identify the ones who belong to our core ideology and completely dedicated to the party. The party must ensure only such loyal workers are appointed in significant posts and are given more responsibilities," she said, adding that dedicated workers instead of opportunist ones should be prioritised.
"In 1996, when the government under former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee was toppled after 13 days in power, he was approached by many other parties and was offered to save his chair. But he refused. He refused to leave his party for the sake of this chair. BJP is more than contesting the elections and forming the government. We have such people like Vajpayee who prepared all of us. We must not forget their ideologies," she said,
Expressing her gratitude to the Jan Sangh founders Shyama Prasad Mukherjee, Deen Dayal Upaddhyaya, and other historical stalwarts of BJP, such as Lal Krishna Advani, former Rajasthan chief minister Bhairon Singh Shekhawat and Vijaya Raje Scindia, Raje also emphasised how Prime Minister Narendra Modi brought the party ahead and pushed it towards a new era. "He is the one who has successfully established our country at the global stage. But we don't work for any chair. Unlike Congress, we join the party, execute our duties, and leave. this party is not just our profession but our family. Our foundation is the relationship between our workers and the leaders. This is what made BJP the largest political party in the world. We belive in the idea of a united one nation," said Raje.
Meanwhile, recalling the history of the formation of the party, state chief minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, during his address to the gathering, said: "With the BJP in power at both the central and state levels, we have now more responsibilities. Everybody must make their presence among the people and aim to make the party stronger and more invincible. This journey, which began with the Jan Sangh, is the result of the tireless hard work of its workers. In our policy, the nation is paramount, followed by the party."
The state president Madan Rathore, general secretary Shravan Bagdi, and the former Rajya Sabha MP Ghanashyam Tiwadi were also present in th event.
"The BJP has always placed the interest of the nation above everything else. Our organisational strength is biggest motivation for the party. The workers have to mobilize with full energy for the upcoming elections. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the BJP is strengthening development and cultural nationalism across the country," said Rathore.
He said that the central and state governments are continuously working towards making the country and the state self-reliant and strengthening India's global reputation.
Reacting to the development, state Congress spokesperson, Swarnim Chaturvedi, said, "Most of the old leaders of this party are now sidelined. They are waiting for some good posts while the outsiders are being appointed as the chief ministers and ministers."...
