No private bus support in PM rally: Operators
Jaipur, Feb. 26 -- Private bus operators on Wednesday threatened that no bus will be supplied during the Prime Minister Narendra Modi's upcoming rally in Ajmer on February 28, while intensifying their strike.
President of the private bus operators' association, Satyanarayan Sahu, said, "Over 35,000 buses are on strike for the last two days but the government seems to be very stubborn to their stance. Two rounds of our talks failed. Now we have decided to bar supply of any bus during the PM Modi's upcoming rally in Ajmer."
The operators suspended the operation of all the private buses in the state since Monday over 11 demands including approval to mark soft copies of the documents during checking instead of seizing physical copies, release of the seized bus without any trial, and reduction of the special tax for heavy vehicles.
Commenting on the development, the transport commissioner, Purushottam Sharma, said, "...We are also speaking to the protesting operators and are hoping to resolve it soon to restore the service."...
