Man held for issuing backdated diplomas
Jaipur, Jan. 8 -- The Special Operations Group (SOG) of Rajasthan Police on Wednesday arrested the director of Chennai-based organisation Bharat Sevak Samaj (BSS) for allegedly issuing backdated diploma certificates in fire technician courses without conducting any valid training.
The arrest is linked to irregularities detected during the recruitment process for the Indian Navy's Fire Technician competitive examination 2025.
The accused, identified as SAG Moeson alias Arul Gnana Moeson, a resident of Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu, was arrested from Chennai and produced before the court, which granted police remand.
Additional director general of police (SOG), Vishal Bansal, said a case was registered at the SOG police station in Jaipur under relevant sections of the BNS, following revelations that candidates were provided diplomas and mark sheets dated retrospectively for courses such as Fire Technician, Operator and Storekeeper.
Investigations revealed that BSS, Chennai, in criminal conspiracy with AS Fire and Safety Management Institute, Karauli, issued diplomas for the 2023-24 session purely for financial gain, without imparting any training.
Arrest warrants have also been issued against the organisation's chairman, BS Balachandran, who is absconding....
