Bharatpur, Feb. 14 -- A Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) court on Friday sentenced a man to life imprisonment for raping a 16-year-old girl in Dholpur. Special public prosecutor of Pocso court Santosh Mishra said that the incident took place on November 26, 2022 in a village under Dholpur Sadar police station. The convict caught the victim when she was going to a nearby agriculture field and allegedly raped and assaulted her and inserted a bottle in her private part. After being informed about the incident, the girl's family members reached the spot and rushed her to the district Mangal Singh hospital where doctors referred her to Jaipur. Police arrested the convict Baldev Singh on December 8, 2022. After hearing witnesses and perusing documents, judge Raj Kumar convicted him and awarded him jail term till his death with a penalty of Rs.31,500.
