Ex-Cong councillor claims BJP BLA tried to delete his name from rolls
Jaipur, Jan. 21 -- A former Congress councillor in Jaipur on Monday submitted a complaint to the Lalkothi police station against a BJP booth-level agent for allegedly conspiring to delete his name from the electoral rolls during the special intensive revision (SIR) exercise, police said on Tuesday.
Lalkothi SHO, Prakash Ram, said, "No FIR has been lodged yet. It is a matter under the Jaipur city SDM and the Election Department. We have suggested that he approach them."
According to the police, the former councillor, Akbar Uddin, from ward number 89 of Adarsh Nagar, in his complaint letter, alleged that the brother of a local BJP BLA, Ashok Kumar, allegedly submitted a forged form-7 in his name to that effect. According to the complaint, "a fake declaration has also been attached with the form saying that I permanently shifted to another address. However, my family has stayed at their ancestral house in Adarsh Nagar for over 100 years."
A senior officer from the Election Department said, "No such case has yet been reported to us. However, we will look into the matter."Jaipur district collector Jitendra Soni did not respond to requests for comment....
