Jaipur, Feb. 4 -- Congress state president Govind Singh Dotasara on Tuesday launched a sharp attack on the Rajasthan government during the debate on the Governor's address in the assembly, accusing it of destroying the education system, wasting public money, and failing on key development and governance fronts even as he raised the demand for a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into examination paper leaks that took place over the past 12 years, Targeting the education department, Dotasara said government schools were in a dilapidated condition and repeatedly pulled up by the Rajasthan High Court. "You don't even flinch. There are no proper toilets for children. As many as 44,000 toilets are not usable for students - this is shameful," he said, alleging gross neglect by the department. He also accused the government of causing a sharp fall in school enrolment, claiming that nearly 175,000 students had dropped out, while mid-session transfers and non-academic duties had further weakened the system. Referring to the education minister Madan Dilawar, Dotasara alleged that teachers were first deployed to chase dogs and later put on duty at religious events. He questioned the government's priorities, saying, "What havoc have you wreaked on education?" On the issue of examination paper leaks, Dotasara issued a direct challenge to the government. "If you have the courage, order a CBI probe into paper leaks over the last 12 years," he said. "Paper leaks happened during our time too, and we took action. If any lapses remain, investigate them. But if a 12-year CBI probe is ordered, your government will fall-I am saying this in writing."...
