cong to launch campaign against U.S. trade deal
Jaipur, Feb. 26 -- Congress has decided to launch a statewide campaign against the latest US-India trade deal calling it an "anti-farmer deal".
The party took the decision during a meeting with all key leaders including leader of opposition Tika Ram Jully, state in-charge Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, all MLAs, MPs, former legislators at the party's state office in Jaipur.
The party's state president, Govind Singh Dotasra, said, "Our PM Narendra Modi has locked the deal only under the pressure of the US President Donald Trump. He has compromised our farmers' livelihoods for this deal. Our party will now conduct a campaign against it and make the people aware of this deal and its negative impacts on the farmers."
