Jaipur, Jan. 14 -- A speeding car dragged a 9-year-old girl over 150 feet, killing her, and injured two others in Didwana-Kuchaman district, police said on Tuesday, adding that the driver, who was drunk, was detained and booked for negligent driving. The two injured people are undergoing treatment, police said. Makrana police station inspector Jagadish Prasad Meena said, "We have detained the driver, who was drunk, and booked him for negligent driving. Police are interrogating him and further probe is underway." According to the police, the incident took place on Monday night in Makrana when the minor victim, Tanuja, was on her way to buy some food from a roadside dhaba. The car approached the Chandi village road at high speed, lost control and struck people on the roadside. "The two people fell on the road and were injured while the car dragged Tanuja for over 150 feet, killing her on the spot," Meena said.
