Army stages commander's parade in Jaipur ahead of event on Jan 15
Jaipur, Jan. 14 -- The Indian Army conducted the Army Commander's Parade on Mahal Road on Tuesday ahead of the Army Day Parade on January 15.
Three Chetak helicopters showered flower petals on the crowd. Gallantry award-winning officers then offered a solemn ceremonial salute to the army commander. The 61 Cavalry Regiment- the Indian Army's horse-mounted unit-performed synchronized movements.
Technologically advanced armoured platforms, including the formidable Bhishma Tank (T-90) and indigenous Arjun Tank-symbols of battlefield dominance-thrilled the audience. Upgraded BMP-II mechanised infantry combat vehicles joined the Nag Missile System, K-9 Vajra artillery system, all-terrain patrol vehicles, specialised mobility vehicles, anti-mine quick reaction platforms, mobile anti-tank teams, advanced HELINA missile system, and ZU-23 twin-barrel anti-aircraft gun.
The Dhanush weapon system, modern artillery gun systems, and Universal Rocket Launcher System featured prominently, along with a modular bridge system for rapid deployment in combat zones. Communication and electronic warfare assets, such as SATCOM vehicles and drone jammers, rounded out the displays.
Rajasthan's folk artists followed with mesmerising performances of Kalbelia and Gair dances. The Indian Army Service Corps motorcycle team capped the event with breathtaking formations and daring manoeuvres. The Army Day Parade on January 15 will feature the army chief as chief guest, honouring the force's legacy since its first celebration in 1949....
