ajmer cops seize narcotics, arms, Rs.5-L cash in drug crackdown
Ajmer, May 7 -- Police launched a sweeping crackdown on Wednesday and arrested six people, seized hundreds of kilograms of narcotics, illegal arms, and cash worth over Rs.5 lakh from drug traffickers in Bhilwara and Ajmer districts, intensifying Rajasthan's Drug-Free campaign, officers said.
Under the Rajasthan Police's ongoing Drug-Free Rajasthan special campaign, three major operations conducted on Wednesday across the Ajmer Police Range rattled drug networks. Separate actions in Ajmer and Bhilwara districts yielded large quantities of doda chura, charas, and smack, along with illegal weapons and cash.
Ajmer range inspector general of police Rajendra Singh told Hindustan Times that, following directions from the director general of police, a zero-tolerance policy against narcotics has been strictly enforced across all Ajmer Range districts. He added that police are intensifying arrests and initiating proceedings to seize properties of drug traffickers.
The largest haul occurred in the Bijolia police station area of Bhilwara district. A special police team intercepted a white car during a blockade at Ladpura intersection. Police recovered 246kg of doda chura, a pistol, two magazines, and 21 live cartridges concealed in 13 plastic sacks. Two accused, Takdir Singh (27) and Daljit Singh (37), both residents of Punjab, were arrested under the NDPS Act; further investigation continues....
