Adequate supply of LPG, fuel, fertilisers in Raj: CM
Jaipur, March 27 -- Rajasthan chief minister Bhajan Lal Sharma chaired an all-party meeting on Thursday to review the availability of LPG, petroleum products, and fertilisers, assuring that the state has adequate stocks of all essential commodities, amid evolving global uncertainties impacting supply chains.
The chief minister said timely and proactive steps by both the Centre and the state government have ensured smooth supply and prevented any disruption. He highlighted that the Centre has effectively managed the situation by increasing LPG production across the country, ensuring sufficient crude oil reserves, and making a special allocation of an additional 48,000 kilolitres of kerosene.
"Rajasthan currently has sufficient availability of petrol, diesel, LPG, and fertilisers," he said. The state's domestic LPG consumption stands at around 155,000 metric tonnes per month, while commercial consumption is approximately 14,700 metric tonnes. With nearly 18.4 million domestic consumers, Rajasthan accounts for about 5.5% of the national LPG consumption.
The chief minister said the state government has strengthened its preparedness by increasing LPG stock levels. The average daily LPG stock, which stood at around 22,000 metric tonnes in February 2026, has been increased to nearly 24,000 metric tonnes in March. Commercial LPG stocks are also secured for up to 14 days.
A robust monitoring mechanism has been put in place at both state and district levels.
A state-level committee comprising the home secretary, food secretary, ADG (Law and Order), and representatives of oil companies is overseeing the situation.
At the district level, collectors, SPs, and departmental teams are actively monitoring supply and distribution.
The chief minister said strict vigilance is being maintained against black marketing and hoarding. So far, 1,388 gas distributors have been inspected, raids conducted at 1,404 locations, and 3,246 cylinders seized.
To ensure transparency, OTP-based verification has been made mandatory for LPG delivery, with 90% of deliveries now authenticated through the system. For consumer convenience, helpline numbers 181, 112, and 14435 are operational round the clock.
The chief minister emphasised that both the Centre and state are working in coordination to ensure uninterrupted fertiliser supply for farmers.
Production of urea and other fertilisers has been significantly increased at the national level to meet demand, he said.
He also appealed to the public and political parties to avoid spreading rumours and extend cooperation in the larger public interest....
