Jaipur, Feb. 5 -- Four people including a nursing staff of a government hospital have been arrested in Nagaur for supplying 9,550 kgs of ammonium nitrate to the prime accused Suleman Khan who was held a day before Republic Day. Superintendent of police Mridul Kachhwa said: "During the interrogation, Suleman confessed that he used to get the explosives from these four people and then used to sell these products at a higher cost to the mine owners. Three of these four accused are from Nagaur while another is from Chittorgarh." According to police, the four accused were identified as Devraj Medtiya (nursing staff of Nagaur CHC), Bharat Kumar, Mahendra Pal Singh, and Chittorgarh-based Bansilal Banjara. "All the four are legal licence holders for supplying ammonium nitrate?. However, all of them have used it illegally and purchased explosives above the permissible limits and sold them at a higher rate than the market price," said Kachhwa. Meanwhile, Devraj also surrendered his licence two years ago when he joined the CHC. "However, he kept supplying explosives illegally. Apart from the explosives such as ammonium nitrate, they also used to supply illegal arms," SP added. On January 25, the Nagaur police arrested Suleman and seized 9,550 ammonium nitrate from his house in Thanvla, said the police officer. "The accused Suleman Khan also has three cases lodged against him under the explosive act at Nagaur's Thanvla, Padukallan, and Alwar's Chaupasni stations," said Kachhwa. Following the development the police lodged a case against him under sections 112 (2), 288 of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and also 5/9 of explosives act, 1884.
