Ajmer, May 2 -- Three members of a family were injured in a cooking gas cylinder explosion in Ajmer district on Friday, police said. The incident occurred in the Lohakhan-Pilikhan area when a woman was preparing food in the kitchen and a sudden explosion took place due to a suspected gas regulator leakage, police said. ASI Champalal confirmed the identities of the injured and said preliminary findings suggest that the explosion occurred due to leakage in the gas regulator pipe. According to reports, Tayba, 45, sustained burn injuries after the blast. Her husband Kamar Ali, 48, and brother-in-law Salim, 48, rushed into the kitchen to rescue her but also suffered burn injuries in the process. Family members and locals managed to control the fire before it spread further. All three injured people were immediately shifted to JLN Hospital, where they are currently undergoing treatment. Civil Lines Police reached the spot and initiated an investigation into the matter.
