Bharatpur, Jan. 24 -- A 22-year-old Agniveer soldier was found dead on the roadside while he was returning home during a leave in Bharatpur, police said on Friday. The incident took place under Chiksana police station limits on Thursday night. The deceased was identified as Pushpendra Singh, resident of village Peepla under Chiksana police station. His uncle Sher Singh said that he joined the army as Agniveer three years ago. He was posted in Siachen Glacier and he was returning to the village after three months in the Siachen area, police said. He arrived in Delhi by airplane from Siachen then took a bus to Mathura. According to police, on Thursday 7pm he had called and informed his father Vijay Singh that he will reach home soon. Family members began searching for him when he didn't reach home till 10pm and his mobile phone was also switched off. Around midnight, his family found his body on the roadside around 3 kilometers away from the village. On being informed, police reached the spot on Friday morning in a border area falling under Uttar Pradesh's Farah police station jurisdiction. Pushpendra Singh, Peepla police outpost in-charge said, "By the time police reached, he had died. Preliminary probe suggests the death occurred due to a road accident.
