Jaipur, Jan. 14 -- Two youths were killed in separate hit-and-run accidents in Jaipur on Monday night while returning home on their motorcycles, police said on Tuesday. In both cases, the drivers of the vehicles involved - a truck and a pickup - fled the scenes after striking their victims. Police registered cases and launched searches for the absconding drivers, the police added.
Officers at the Jaipur Accident police station (west) said post-mortem examinations of both victims took place at Kanwatia Hospital, after which authorities handed the bodies to their families. The two hit-and-run incidents occurred in the Vishwakarma and Kardhani areas.
"In the first, Shubham Pandey (30), a resident of VKI Ekta Road who worked as a manager at Axis Bank in C-Scheme, died in the Vishwakarma area. He is survived by his wife and two-year-old son," an officer said.

The truck driver fled the scene after the collision. Passersby informed police after finding Pandey lying injured on the road. Rescuers rushed him to Kanwatia Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
The second incident took place in the Kardhani area, where Anil (40), a carpenter by profession and native of Khandela in Sikar district, lost his life. He lived in Shyam Market, Kardhani, and worked as a carpenter. "Around 7:30 pm, Anil rode his motorcycle home via 80 Feet Road when an overspeeding pickup hit his bike.
