Record 1.9 million people visit Kainchi Dham in six months
Rudrapur, Feb. 15 -- The Kainchi Dham temple saw a record footfall of 1.9 million from last August to January this year, as compared to around 200,000 to 300,000 footfall in a year, according to data released by the administration.
"More and more tourists and pilgrims across the country and abroad are reaching Kainchi Dham day by day. Seeing the crowd, the administration and police have to take extra measures to control the crowd as well as maintain law and order," said Nainital district chief development officer (CDO) Arvind Pandey, on Saturday.
Tourists and pilgrims have reached the Dham to offer their prayers in record numbers. According to the data, the Dham recorded 1,980,381 footfalls from August to January. htc...
