Karnal, Aug. 25 -- A government school principal and two teachers have been booked under the Juvenile Justice Act for allegedly strip-searching a Class-12 student, who they suspected was concealing a mobile phone under her uniform.

Police said according to the girl, who studies at a school in Kurukshetra's Shahbad, the incident had taken place on August 9. The girl told the police, whom she approached on Wednesday, that the teachers had suspicion that she had brought a mobile phone to the school. She said the teachers then took her to a separate room and asked her to remove her clothes. When they could not find anything, they sent her to her classroom, she added.
