GGM Health dept rolls out 60-day NCD screening programme
Gurugram, Jan. 17 -- The Gurugram health department on Friday launched an intensive 60-day screening campaign for non-communicable diseases (NCDs), including diabetes, hypertension, and three common cancers - oral, breast and cervical - officials said.
The drive, which began on January 15, aims to complete NCD screening of the entire population above 30 years by the end of 2026.
Chief medical officer Dr Lokveer Singh said around 10,000 people will be screened daily at urban primary health centres, sub-centres, Ayushman Arogya Mandirs, subdivisions and the civil hospital. Dedicated camps will also be organised in sectors, corporate offices, and near high-rise societies.
Non-invasive tests such as blood pressure and blood sugar checks will be conducted, besides screening for cancers and stroke risk screening....
