Delhi CM flags off Rs.135-crore projects
New Delhi, Feb. 1 -- Delhi chief minister Rekha Gupta on Saturday inaugurated development works worth over Rs.135 crore in the Mehrauli assembly constituency, focusing on road reconstruction and repairs, and beautification of public parks.
"For the first time, the Delhi Government has ensured there is no shortage of funds for development works, enabling timely and comprehensive implementation of projects across all constituencies," the CM said.
"Through the inauguration of development projects worth over Rs.135 crore, civic amenities in the Mehrauli Assembly constituency are being strengthened," CM Gupta added at the event. Gupta detailed that the projects include reconstruction and repair of roads, renovation of dilapidated chaupals and community buildings, construction of public toilets, beautification of parks, and installation of swings and new open gym equipment. The list includes both new and carry-over projects. She said completion would ease traffic, improve safety, and enhance residents' quality of life. "Mehrauli is home to several important heritage sites. We have sanctioned Rs.235 crore of development works for the constituency," Gupta added.
Under this allocation, departments like the PWD, Irrigation and Flood Control, Delhi Jal Board, and Delhi Urban Shelter Improvement Board (DUSIB) are implementing projects in a coordinated manner, she added. Gupta said multi-departmental support ensures residents directly benefit.
The CM also highlighted key priority projects for the region, including the proposed Badarpur-Mehrauli Elevated Road for traffic relief. According to Gupta, priority will be given to constructing multi-level parking, a modern 100-200 bed hospital, sports grounds, and community buildings....
