delhi announces compensation for kin of goa fire victims
New Delhi, Feb. 10 -- Chief minister Rekha Gupta handed a financial assistance of Rs.10 lakh each to the family members of victims of Goa fire tragedy.
On December 6, a fire broke out at the 'Birch by Romeo Lane' nightclub in Arpora in which four members of the Delhi-based family-Vinod Kumar (42), Anita Joshi (42), Saroj Joshi (41), and Kamla Joshi (44) - lost their lives.
Delhi cabinet minister Kapil Mishra said the death was extremely heartbreaking. "This was not merely an accident, but also a result of serious negligence. The chief minister met the family and assured all possible help. She handed over the total assistance of Rs.40 lakh," he added.
