Bomb threats: Courts' security to be audited
Dehradun, Feb. 21 -- The Uttarakhand Police has ordered a statewide comprehensive audit of security arrangements on court premises, a senior officer said on Friday. The move follows a series of threats to multiple court complexes, including the state high court's Nainital bench.
Director general of police (DGP) Deepam Seth said strict additional security directives were also put in place.
They include the deployment of adequate police and Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) personnel equipped with security gear at all court premises across districts.
"Entry and exit at court complexes will be regulated through identity card verification in coordination with concerned officials to prevent unauthorised access," Seth said. Personnel from the Local Intelligence Unit (LIU) and other police forces will assist in patrolling, he added....
