Uttarkashi, Feb. 28 -- A 55-year-old woman died after suffering an electric shock while heating water with an immersion rod in the washroom of her residence in Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand on Friday morning, a police officer aware of the matter said on Friday. The police officer cited above said the deceased was identified as Meena Devi, a resident of Sunaldi village in the Barkot tehsil area. According to district officials, the incident occurred at around 9.15 am when she was using a water heating rod to heat water. Family members of the woman rushed her to the Community Health Centre in Barkot, immediately after the incident. However, doctors at the hospital declared her dead.
