Rudrapur, Feb. 7 -- Two paragliders sustained injuries in five-day National Accuracy Paragliding Championship being held in Kapkot of Bageshwar district on Friday, officials aware of the matter said on Friday. The incident took place while landing at Kedareshwar ground in Kapkot, they said. The injured were identified as Ranjeet Singh Chauhan of Tehri district and Naveen Parihar of Bageshwar district. According to officials, they were provided medical facilities on the spot and one of the injured was shifted to the district hospital. A medical examination was conducted on Chauhan in primary health centre Kapkot later shifted to the district hospital where an orthopaedic specialist is providing medical facilities. Parihar received an ankle twist and was provided medical facilities on the spot. Bageshwar district magistrate Akansha Konde said: "The championship is absolutely safe and secure. All events are being operated and medical facilities are being provided as per the provision of the sport. The participants received minor injuries while landing but they are safe."...
