India, Feb. 6 -- Penny, a 4-year-old Doberman pinscher, made history by winning Best in Show at the Westminster dog show at New York's Madison Square Garden. She beat out over 3,000 other dogs from around the world. This is the fifth time a Doberman has won the top prize in the show's long history. Penny, whose official name is GCHP CH Connquest Best of Both Worlds, had never competed at this dog show before. The win was extra special due to Penny's connection with her handler, Andy Linton. He is a veteran who also led the last winning Doberman back in 1989. Even though Andy is living with Parkinson's disease, he and Penny worked perfectly together.
