Kerala Story 2 director: Anurag ab maansik roop se durbal hain
India, Feb. 24 -- The controversy around The Kerala Story 2 escalated on Sunday after director Kamakhya Narayan Singh criticised filmmaker Anurag Kashyap for calling the film "bulls**t propaganda."
Anurag (53) made the remarks while speaking to paparazzi in Kochi at an awards show. Reacting to a scene from the trailer, in which a protagonist is force-fed beef by a Muslim family, he said, "Aise kaun beef khilata hai? Aise koi khichdi bhi nahin khilata hai. Bakwaas picture. It is called crap. They just want to make money and... divide people. The filmmaker is a greedy man."
In response, Kamakhya (41) shared a video on X, saying Anurag had misunderstood the film's message. "Problem yeh hai ki Anurag Kashyap ji ab maansik roop se durbal ho gaye hain aur samaaj ne bhi inhe seriously lena chhorh diya hai," he said, adding, "Unko har cheeze se dikkat hai - Brahmanon se, Netflix se, film industry se... His films for the last few years are flops... He made That Girl in Yellow Boots (2010) in which he showed an illicit relationship between a father and a daughter!"
Kamakhya added that the film is "based on facts", with the audience giving the trailer "a positive response". The video was captioned, "Dear Anurag sir, the issue isn't what was shown in the film - khichdi, beef, or something else. The real question is consent and coercion... If a film raises the issue of forced change or pressure, calling it hate-mongering is intellectual dishonesty."
Anurag had not responded to Kamakhya's post till the time of going to press.htc...
