India, Jan. 28 -- Rapper Ye, also known as Kanye West, on Monday took out a full-page ad in the Wall Street Journal apologising for his antisemitic rants and blaming the behaviour on his bipolar disorder. Titled To Those I've Hurt, West expressed his struggle with bipolar disorder caused by a brain injury that he suffered in a car crash in 2002, saying, "You think everyone else is overreacting. You feel like you're seeing the world more clearly than ever, when in reality you're losing your grip entirely." The 24-time Grammy winner also mentioned how he sometimes has "disconnected moments" that lead to poor judgment and reckless behaviour. "I regret and am deeply mortified by my actions in that state, and am committed to accountability, treatment, and meaningful change," West stated. "It does not excuse what I did, though. I am not a Nazi or an antisemite. I love Jewish people," he further added. The apology came after the disgraced 48-year-old music star released his song Heil Hitler last May to mark the 80th anniversary of the defeat of Nazi Germany in World War II. In recent years, West has lost fans and business deals because of his racist and antisemitic outbursts. He also lost his visa to travel to Australia, among other penalties. However, this is not the first such apology coming from the artiste. In a similar incident in 2023, West apologized to Jews for having said, "I love Nazis." He also stirred racial controversy in 2022 by wearing a T-shirt with the slogan "White Lives Matter," which was seen as an insult to the Black Lives Matter movement. HTC...
