Jada seeks dismissal of$3M lawsuit by Will's friend
India, Feb. 18 -- Actor Jada Pinkett Smith is asking a California court to dismiss a $3 million (approx Rs.27 crore) lawsuit filed by Bilaal Salaam, Will Smith's former best friend, in December 2025, alleging that she threatened him at a hotel.
In a motion obtained by PEOPLE, Jada has moved to strike Salaam's lawsuit, arguing it runs afoul of California's anti-SLAPP (strategic lawsuit against public participation) law, designed to weed out meritless claims linked to protected speech at an early stage.
The lawsuit follows Salaam's appearance on the Unwine With Tasha K podcast, where he alleged he walked in on Will Smith engaging in a sexual act with actor Duane Martin. Jada dismissed the claims as "nonsense" during an interview on The Breakfast Club, with the motion stating that Salaam's allegations were "false, uncorroborated," and part of an attention-seeking campaign targeting her family.
The motion also references Jada's comment to TMZ, in which she told the outlet "we're suin'" in response to Salaam's claims regarding her husband.htc...
