India, Jan. 30 -- In a shocking (and quiet) move, actor Janhvi Kapoor, among filmmaker Karan Johar's most fiercely guarded protegees, has exited his talent roster Dharma Collab Artists Agency (DCAA) and signed with another agency. Karan has earlier produced six of Janhvi's films, including her debut Dhadak (2015), Ghost Stories (2016), Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl (2016), Mr & Mrs Mahi (2024), Homebound (2025), and Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari (2025). Janhvi's exit comes amid murmurs of a strain between the two. And rumours are abuzz that other star kids launched by Karan, including Ananya Panday and Varun Dhawan, might follow her lead. As per the rumour mill, the 'Kartik' factor may have contributed to this split. Janhvi was reported to have gone through a bad breakup with actor Kartik Aaryan. At the time, KJo and Kartik also had a fallout during the pre-production of Dostana 2 in 2021. However, Karan recently mended his relationship with Kartik, producing his film Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri (2025), which didn't do well at the box office. Another reason that has surfaced for this rift is Janhvi being irked by her success being credited to the 'star kid' label and 'Dharma fave privileges'. She is now dedicated to building a name for herself outside the influence of the Dharma banner. We reached out to both Janhvi and Karan, but received no comment till going to press. htc...
