India, Feb. 5 -- N o matter which direction you walk in, Delhi at this time of the year feels quietly overtaken by art. Courtesy India Art Fair 2026, it is no longer just the fairgrounds in Okhla that frame the conversation around modern and contemporary South Asian art. Exhibitions, performances and pop-up interventions are unfolding across the city, many continuing well after the fair draws its curtains. This year, the fair has a record 133 exhibitors, including 94 galleries, who will be presenting their works alongside regional and international art institutions. Welcoming 26 new exhibitors, the fair is marking its broadest showcase yet. The curation aims to foreground some of the most compelling voices from South Asian art while presenting them alongside major contemporary international artists and collectible designs. "It's about legacy building," says Jaya Asokan, fair director, adding, "We've almost 11 new international exhibitors and the fair's programming has expanded fourfold. There's also artist-in-residence programme that we're offering unlike any other fair. That's how the fair has grown."...
