Deepinder Goyal breaks his silence on 'Temple' device: Will share all the science if we decide to sell it

n Friday, Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal addressed the speculation surrounding a mysterious device spotted on his temple. Dubbed "Temple" by social media users, the gadget is reportedly designed to monitor blood flow in the brain in real time. In a statement on X (see inset), Deepinder emphasised that the product is still under development and that preview units are months away from being shared publicly, if at all.
The controversy began after Deepinder appeared on entrepreneur Raj Shamani's podcast wearing the device. A short clip from the episode quickly went viral, with viewers calling it a "brain tracker," despite no confirmation from Deepinder or Zomato. Before Deepinder's clarification, the debate had intensified when Dr Datta, MD, a physician-scientist from AIIMS Delhi, dismissed the device as a "fancy toy for billionaires" with "zero scientific standing" as a medical tool.
