An ode to Tagore's muse, with love
India, March 20 -- The jhankaar of ghungroos filled Kamani Auditorium when pirouettes of Kathak, choreographed on Rabindra Sangeet, returned to Delhi after 11 years for the staging of Kadambari: The Poet's Muse.
Portraying the central character, Kathak exponent Shovana Narayan mesmerised the audience with her impeccable expressions that defined the creative muse of polymath Rabindranath Tagore. Applauding it, actor Sharmila Tagore said, "You brought out every aspect of Gurudev and Kadambari - the youthfulness and closeness we are all so familiar with. I am fortunate to have witnessed this."
Preceding the performance was an interactive session titled Revisiting Tagore-Symbol of Modern Indian Consciousness, which saw eminent personalities share their thoughts....
